The Tribe & Big Cats! - The Let’s Be Professional Mixtape

Presented by Midwest Broadcast and DJ Pwelbs

The Tribe & Big Cats! - The Let’s Be Professional Mixtape

Alongside Midwest Broadcast, I am very honored to be presenting a brand new project from The Tribe & Big Cats! titled The Let’s Be Professional Mixtape.

Producers Big Cats! and DJ Pete combine efforts to dazzle you with a variety rough and tough beats. All while Truth Be Told delivers line after line with charisma and character. I’ve been a fan of these three ever since they dropped their Supply & Demand mixtape last year. I knew as soon as these guys filled me in on the mixtape that it was going to be something special. The tape also includes a handful of verses from some familiar faces including Franz Diego, Big Zach, Chantz and Guante.

To top it all off? This is just a pre-cursor to the trio’s full length album titled Forward Thinkers, Movers, Shakers,  which set to drop sometime this summer.

shouts to DJ Pete, Truth Be Told and Big Cats! Congrats!

Make sure y’all check out my man Mike over Midwest Broadcast as well. Your bible for Midwest hip-hop.

Guante & Big Cats! - An Unwelcome Guest Megamix (Mixed by Noam The Drummer)

Guante & Big Cats An Unwelcome Guest Megamix (MP3)

Two of the Twin Cities fines are collaborating for a new album titled An Unwelcome Guest. Producer Big Cats! and emcee Guante come together to tell the the tale of a “hour-long zombie-superhero-love-story.” Sweet!

But we won’t get to hear the final project which features the likes of Big Quarters and members of No Bird Sing until this December. Until then - Minneapolis DJ Noam The Drummer has mixed together the album into 15 delicious minutes. Looking forward to hearing the whole project soon enough!

Shouts to Guante and Big Cats!

Look for Big Cats! production on the coming Pwelbs.com X Airtime Collection mixtape dropping next week.

Guante & Big Cats! - Harry Potter (Remix) ft. Chantz

Guante & Big Cats! - Harry Potter (Remix) ft. Chantz

Tru Ruts/Speakeasy Records presents a FREE download of the remixed/re-worked “Harry Potter,” a song that finds emcees Guante and Chantz using the book/film series as a metaphor for smashing down the walls of the literary/musical/artistic canon. Over a brooding, propulsive Big Cats! beat, the two rappers touch on hip hop, culture and much more, all the while dropping punchlines that play off of the book’s many characters and ideas. Fresh off their appearance at Soundset ’09, Guante & Big Cats! are dropping this song for free as an appetizer to their upcoming zombie-superhero-love-story, the concept album “An Unwelcome Guest.”
